The weeping palm trunk. Propped up palm tree trunks, with a roof laid over the trunks, this was how the early mosque in Madinah looked like.

On Fridays, the Prophet would lean against one of the palm trunks while giving khutbah. This was until a pulpit (minbar) was built for the Prophet.

Out of longing for the Prophet, the palm trunk wept til it made a camel-like sound. It missed having the Prophet lean on it. Our merciful Prophet then placed his hand on the weeping palm trunk, listening to it and calming it down.
